Project Management and Execution
- Manage all aspects of project performance, including scope, safety, quality, schedule, innovation, cost, and customer satisfaction.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, owners, and subcontractors, managing expectations and ensuring successful project outcomes.
- Establish project budgets and cost codes, and track project expenses accurately.
- Oversee timely completion and submission of all project reports (submittals, minority reports, progress reports, etc.).
- Develop project schedules and timelines.
- Review and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotes.
- Order materials through the company’s purchase order system.
- Attend all project meetings, including pre-construction, progress meetings, and team meetings.
- Generate Requests for Information (RFIs) as needed.
- Track completed work quantities and prepare pay applications.
- Manage change order processes, including expediting work and recording invoices.
Documentation & Team Leadership
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive project manual for field personnel.
- Ensure all project paperwork requirements (certificates, liens, submittals, minority reports, bonds, etc.) are met.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment through strong people skills.
- Conduct thorough project closeouts, guaranteeing all paperwork and sign-offs are completed.
- Lead and mentor an Assistant Project Manager and Project Engineer, fostering their professional development.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience successfully managing government contracts and entities (DOTs, municipalities, counties) and/or heavy highway/civil construction projects (experience in PA, WV, or OH is a plus).
- Proficiency in HCSS, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and all forms of data entry.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills to improve overall project efficiency.
- Strong understanding of construction terminology, materials, and methods.
- Effective communication skills within the construction environment.
- Capability to train others to perform at acceptable levels.
