Mechanical Designer

Job Description

The job involves designing custom engineered products, preferably relating to water pumping stations for golf, landscaping, and agriculture irrigation systems. The role requires proficiency with 3D CAD software, knowledge in fluid hydraulics, and the ability to create custom engineered product designs to achieve required system performance.

Responsibilities

• Translating technical specifications from Applications Engineering into CAD based layouts and full bills of material to support in-house fabrication and assembly.
• Efficiently managing multiple projects at the same time.
• Leading project meetings, giving presentations to small groups, and assisting with customer communication.

Qualifications and Experience

• An Associate Degree, preferably in mechanical engineering technology.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software; SolidWorks preferred. Experience with AutoCad 2D is a plus.
• Experience designing custom engineered products, preferably relating to water pumping stations or similar technologies.
• Knowledge in fluid hydraulics; including water pumps, valves, flow meters, pressure gages, filters, etc.
• Familiarity with industrial control systems and wiring practices, including motor controls, VFD’s, sensors, and data communications.
• Strong computer skills; Microsoft Office preferred and must be proficient with Excel.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
