Construction Inspector
Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Construction Inspector to join our team in Albany, NY. In this role, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining quality control and assurance on commercial construction projects.
Responsibilities
- Conduct various inspections and tests on construction materials like soils, concrete, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel.
- Ensure adherence to project specifications and industry standards by interpreting construction drawings and test results accurately.
- Complete all testing assignments meticulously and following relevant standards.
- Clearly document and report inspection findings in a concise and easy-to-understand manner.
- Submit daily reports and field data records for each project.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with supervisors regarding project updates.
Qualifications
- High school diploma required.
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in civil engineering/technology (preferred, but not mandatory).
- Minimum of one International Code Council (ICC) certification in a relevant Special Inspector category (Reinforced Concrete, Soils, Masonry, Spray Applied Fireproofing, Steel & Bolt, or Steel & Weld) OR American Concrete Institute (ACI) Grade 1 certification OR Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certificate through a State Board.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with managers, colleagues, and clients.
- Valid driver’s license required.
